Baby Shower in Queens Coffee Shop, Kew Gardens
Outside it was cold, rainy, and completely gray. But inside of the Roast & Co Cafe in Kew Gardens (Queens) it was warm, and packed with friends and family.
This was a three-hour event with a full buyout, booked as a gift from the mom-to-be’s best friend. The group kept things moving between games, gift opening, and a lot of casual conversation, with people rotating in and out of moments naturally rather than anything feeling overly structured.
I focused on following that flow as it happened. Reactions during gifts, group shots when everyone was together, and smaller interactions that tend to slip by if you’re not paying attention. With everything happening in one space, it comes down to timing and positioning so nothing feels repetitive.
