Candid Business Portraits in Fidi, Manahttan
January in the Financial District isn’t exactly forgiving; cold, dark, and not a lot of time before the light disappears. This was a one-hour session with a traveling client who wanted a mix of clean, traditional portraits and something a little more candid and lived-in.
We moved quickly through a few spots, balancing posed shots with lighter, street-style moments in between. The goal was to keep things efficient without everything feeling stiff, especially given the weather and limited daylight. We wrapped up at a nearby bar, where we grabbed a drink and finished the session with a few more relaxed shots to round things out.
Short winter sessions like this come down to pacing and adaptability, which means working with the light you have, keeping things moving, and making sure you walk away with a solid, varied set in a tight window. If you’re in the city briefly and need portraits that don’t feel rushed or repetitive, this is exactly the kind of session I’m set up to handle.
