January Food Shoots Roundup (Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan)

January is usually a slower month for photoshoots overall, but I still got to work with a handful of great spots across the city. This post pulls one image from each of five standout shoots, all done for DoorDash via Ocus/Snappr, with a little extra time carved out for my own selects.

All of these were shot within DoorDash’s branding guidelines, which means consistency, clarity, and speed are the priority. Once those are locked in, I use whatever time is left to grab additional images that go a bit further. Tighter framing, more focus on texture, or just shots that wouldn’t necessarily live on an app but are worth making anyway.

If you’re a restaurant and need images that work across delivery platforms but also hold up elsewhere, that balance is something I bring to every shoot.

All images in this blog post were shot on a Nikon D850 using a 24-85mm zoom lens, and all individually post-processed in Adobe Lightroom using custom-built presets.
