African Children's Choir x ChangeMakers Gala at the Cutting Room (Midtown, Manhattan)

This was a full evening of event coverage for The African Children’s Choir’s NYC ChangeMakers Gala at The Cutting Room, with around 125 guests in attendance. The event supports the organization’s work providing education, housing, and long-term support for children across several African countries, with music and performance at the center of what they do. The night moved from cocktail hour into dinner, then into a speaking program and live auction.

The choir’s performance was the centerpiece. High-energy singing and choreography, a lot of movement, and strong audience reactions throughout. My coverage was focused inside the main space, capturing both what was happening on stage and how people in the room were responding to it.

Working events like this is about keeping up with a fast-moving program and making sure nothing important gets missed. Stage moments, audience reactions, and everything in between, all captured as it happens so the final set reflects the full night without gaps…because there are no do-overs.
