Rosh Hashanah Women's Event at FloLo (Midtown, Manhattan)

At this women-only community event leading up to Rosh Hashanah, held at FloLo Holistic in Midtown, the night was built around a “mind, body, and soul” theme, with two distinct levels of programming. Downstairs had a more spa-focused setup with salt rooms, floating beds, and meditation, while the main level was more of a social space with food, a live DJ, and dancing.

The evening began with a guided Jewish meditation, then moved into a collaborative challah baking ceremony, and group engagement centered around reflection and prayer ahead of the holiday. There was also a speaker portion, along with a lot of organic interaction between guests as the night progressed, shifting from quieter moments into a more high-energy atmosphere.

For events like this, coverage needs to do more than just document what happened. It has to translate the experience into images that can be used for future promotion. I made sure to capture clean shots of the food and setup before guests arrived, then focused on group interactions, speaker moments, and the overall energy of the room as it built throughout the night without compromising artistic elements.
