Menu Photography for Sabor Peruano in College Point, Queens (Snappr/Doordash)

Normally these monthly roundups feature my five favorite shoots from that month, however I'm taking a break from shooting to recover from surgery for about 2 months, so I figured this time would be the perfect excuse to dig back through the archives from this year, and finally share some assignments that deserved a post at the time but never got one. And also maybe injecting an editorial opinion or two since I’m more or less stuck in bed for the time being. All that being said…here is the next one :)

I usually highlight my food photography assignments together into a monthly ‘roundup’, but this one at Sabor Peruano in College Point was worth giving its own post. The shoot was brokered via Snappr on behalf of DoorDash, and consisted entirely of photographing the food for their delivery listings. There are some pretty strict guidelines to follow for these assignments, so each dish has to be photographed in a particular way and meet their requirements before I can deliver the images.

At the same time, I can take some additional photos for myself that aren't part of the required deliverables, which gives me a little more freedom to experiment with different angles and compositions.

Here are some of my favorite images from this shoot (click/tap to view full size and un-cropped):
