Post-Proposal Couples Photoshoot in DUMBO (Brooklyn Bridge)

Not every proposal photographer gets to photograph the proposal itself. In this case, the big question had already been asked during a helicopter ride over New York City prior to our session. By the time I met up with this couple, who were visiting from Spain, the nerves were gone and they were ready to simply enjoy being engaged. We spent the next hour around the Brooklyn Bridge and nearby waterfront creating a mix of classic engagement portraits and more candid moments while they soaked in what had already become a pretty unforgettable day.

There's something nice about photographing couples after the proposal instead of during it. Without the pressure of keeping a secret or waiting for the perfect moment, people tend to relax quickly and just enjoy each other's company. That usually leads to photographs that feel less like an event and more like a memory.

Whether you're planning a surprise proposal, engagement session, or couples photos while visiting New York City, I can help create images that feel natural, personal, and unmistakably New York.
