App Content Shoot for Fellini Coffee in Chelsea, Manhattan
Normally these monthly roundups feature my five favorite shoots from that month, however I'm taking a break from shooting to recover from surgery for about 2 months, so I figured this time would be the perfect excuse to dig back through the archives from this year, and finally share some assignments that deserved a post at the time but never got one. And also maybe injecting an editorial opinion or two since I’m more or less stuck in bed for the time being. All that being said…here is the next one :)
Fellini Coffee is one of those clients where our relationship has grown over time, in fact since before they even started (I was already shooting for some of their sister concepts first). I’ve photographed for them several times before, so when they reached out again for updated images, I was excited to come back. This time, the goal was to create new photography for their own app as they continue building out their digital presence, which meant capturing the food, drinks, and overall Fellini experience in a way that would work across their new platform.
Restaurant and food photography is always a fun balance between making something look delicious while also capturing the atmosphere around it (while still respecting the privacy of the patrons). Because after working with anyone multiple times, you come to an understanding of their style and what they want to show their customers, and how they like to show it. And it gets richer, easier, and more accurate each time.

All images in this blog post were shot on a Nikon D850 using a 24-85mm zoom lens, and all individually post-processed in Adobe Lightroom using custom-built presets.
