October Food Photoshoot Roundup: 6 Favorites
One of the things I like about restaurant photography is that no two shoots are really the same. One day I'm working in a polished dining room designed down to the last detail, the next I'm squeezed into a tiny kitchen trying to make the most of a few square feet of counter space. The food changes, the lighting changes, the pace changes, but the goal is always the same: make people want to order it.
Pictured from top-left to bottom-right:
Chino Grande (Williamsburg, Brooklyn)
Long Kin Thai (Prospect Heights, Brooklyn)
Jajaja Mexicana (Williamsburg, Brooklyn)
Renegade Vegan (Prospect Park, Brooklyn)
Umiya Sushi (Long Island City, Queens)
Mamma Mezze (Midtown, Manhattan)
As always, these were shot for DoorDash via Ocus, which means the core deliverables need to be clean, consistent, and platform-friendly. Once those are finished, I usually spend a little extra time making images that aren't strictly required but help me experiment, practice, and occasionally create something more interesting than a standard menu photo. That's often where my favorite images from these shoots come from.
If you own a restaurant and need food photography that works for delivery platforms, marketing materials, social media, or your website, that's exactly the balance I'm aiming for on every shoot.
